A healthy weight and a healthy heart go hand in hand, but getting to a healthy weight can be a challenge. KATC's Tracy Wirtz visited with trainer and dietician Dawn Foreman who has designed a 12-week program that is basically a blueprint for jump-starting your weight-loss efforts and helping you to live a healthier lifestyle. It involves three components each week: a nutrition strategy that tells you what to eat or not eat; a training strategy that tells you how to move; and a success strategy that Foreman calls "the glue" to help you plan and achieve long-term results.
You Gotta Move Goes Red will officially start on January 31st and each week's strategies will be posted online for you to download. We will also make available online and email support, as well as stories you can watch each week on KATC TV-3 during the program.
If you plan on participating in the You Gotta Move Goes Red program, look for the first week's information and screening information to be posted next week so you can familiarize yourself with what you need to know to get started on the 31st. Also, check with your doctor if you have any medical conditions that may preclude you from participating.
