Last night, shortly before 8:00 p.m., Louisiana State Police Troop D responded to a single-vehicle crash on I-10 Eastbound in Calcasieu Parish. Troopers say the driver was impaired and had four children in the vehicle.
According to State Police, a 2001 Dodge pickup driven by 31-year-old Amanda Michelle Migues of Sulphur was driven off of the roadway into a guardrail. The vehicle became hung up on the guardrail as a result of the crash.
Migues was traveling with her husband and four children, ages 13, 11, 9, and 2. No injuries were reported.
Troopers say they observed significant signs of impairment on the part of Migues. Migues was placed under arrest for DWI with child endangerment, careless operation, expired license plate, no inspection sticker, and no driver's license on person. She was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Correctional Center.
Illegal narcotics use is suspected to be a factor in the crash. Troopers obtained a toxicology sample for analysis.
