Blustery conditions have moved into Acadiana in the wake of a vigorous cool front that continued to produce gusty winds into Wednesday evening.

Those winds will diminish quickly overnight while temperatures drop into the mid-upper 30s by Thursday morning.

Lots of sunshine with seasonably cooler temperatures in the low-mid 60s are in the forecast through Friday.

A few more clouds are expected this weekend with as a weak, fizzling cool front may induce Gulf moisture and perhaps produce a few isolated showers, mainly Saturday.

Temperatures will be a little milder this weekend with highs in the mid-60s while lows moderate into the mid-40s. It looks quite favorable for all outdoor Super Bowl activities from Acadiana to New Orleans.

Next week is looking seasonably mild with very slight rain chances at best.

Long-range models are indicating more unsettled weather with warmer than normal temperatures and a good chance of rain/storms developing sometime for the big Mardi Gras holiday weekend...today's models paint a wet scenario for Fat Tuesday but this far out for any forecast confidence and the prognostication will likely be subject to change.
