Whodat Nation plays the fool...Were you in that number?

Whodats, pick yourselves up off the floor, breathe deeply, and compose yourselves. The New Orleans Saints did not trade Jimmy Graham to the Oakland Raiders for three draft picks.

It didn't take long for diehard Whodats to be pranked on April Fool's Day.

At 12:01a.m., Andrew Juge, a blogger for Saints Nation posted an article entitled "BREAKING NEWS: Jimmy Graham traded to Raiders for 3 draft picks" and the madness ensued.

"The Saints offseason took an unexpected turn as the team has decided to ship Jimmy Graham off to Oakland for the Raiders' 1st, 3rd and 7th round picks in 2014. Wow. Word is the Saints will now make Eric Ebron, tight end out of North Carolina, a drafting priority come May. Graham continued to insist on "Megatron" type money and the Raiders have rewarded him with a 6 year contract for $92.5 million with $40 million guaranteed. That's an astronomical figure that the Saints were never going to come close to paying," Juge's article read.

Juge did not stop there.

"The contract makes Graham the highest paid tight end in history by almost $5 million per year. That is an astronomical contract for Graham and the Raiders also gave up the 5th overall pick to get him. It remains to be seen who the Saints will get with that 5th pick but there are lots of difference making options," the article continued.

Saints fans who did not bother to read further into the article probably began frantically tweeting and facebooking their fellow Whodats.

Whodat after Whodat awakened in a panic and promptly shared the post with friends. The result is that, by mid-morning Tuesday, the fake story was trending on Facebook and Twitter.

If only these foolish Saints fans had read Juge's attempt to let his readers off-the-hook.

"APRIL FOOL'S!!! Come on, you know Jimmy Graham is coming back to the Saints. This is a yearly Saints Nation tradition that fools about 15% of our readership at this point. The reactions (some very angry) are always fun to enjoy, though. On a serious note, today marks the 5th birthday of Saints Nation, so happy birthday to us. I started this site 5 years ago with the only objective to talk about the Saints online with fellow fans. I'd say that's worked out pretty well. This is a labor of love and every dime I make off the site is put back into it (and I've made about three dimes, pretty much, in 5 years!). Thanks to all of you who read, interact and make this whole ordeal fun. Genuinely, I appreciate it so much, and it's the reason I post every single day." Juge said.
