Westlake man accused of 4th DWI

A 50-year-old Westlake man is accused of 4th offense DWI after wrecking into a ditch police say.

On March 2, at 10:00 p.m., Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a report of a single vehicle accident on Gaines Road in Westlake, according to deputies.

Upon arrival, deputies discovered the truck appeared to have run off the road and into the ditch. When the deputy approached the truck and spoke with the driver, Kyle H. Naegele, he detected a strong odor of alcohol emitting from his breath, according to police.

Naegele allegedly refused to perform a standard field sobriety test and was arrested and transferred to the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office, where a breath intoxilyzer test revealed he was over the legal limit, according to deputies.

Naegele, who has three prior DWI arrests since 2010, was booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with DWI 4th; and driving under suspension for prior DWI, and careless operation.

Judge Clayton Davis set his bond at $65,000.
