Welsh to Seek State Help as Crime Spikes

Officials in this small town in southwest Louisiana are asking for state help in fighting a wave of violent crime that has killed three young men in less than a year.

The American Press reports ( ) Police Chief Tommy Chaisson told the Town Council earlier this week that he will send a letter to the state Attorney General Buddy Caldwell asking for assistance.

Chaisson would not provide details on specific aid requested from the state.
