Wade Loshe Goes to Trial Today

Wade Lohse, formerly the most wanted man in Acadiana goes to trial today on charges stemming from his time on the run.

Wade Lohse is accused in the death of Cacie Barras Mcgrew. He was allegedly drunk when he crossed the center line on the Youngsville Highway and hit Mcgrew's car in June 2011.

You may recall, he walked out of court March 25th just before his vehicular homicide trial was scheduled to begin. He spent more than three weeks on the run until authorities found him in Philadelphia.

He also faces felon in possesion of a weapon and burglary charges.
After his escape, authorities tacked on more charges, theft and jumping bail.
Both his pre-trial for escape charges and his trial on vehicular homicide charge are scheduled for today at the Lafayette Parish Court House.

If convicted Lohse could face between 5-30 years in prison.
