Ville Platte and Opelousas Deputy Marshals Team Up for Warrant Service Round-up

Ville Platte and Opelousas Deputy City Marshals teamed up this morning to serve 40 warrants.
There were sixteen Deputy Marshalls knocking on doors and searching for people who haven't shown up to court for things like traffic tickets, theft, speeding, disturbing peace, fighting, and simple battery
"We make sure they take care of it, or we have plenty of room in our jail,"said Ronald Doucet, City Marshal Ward One.
"My job is to go find them and bring them in,"said Paul Mouton, City Marshal Opelousa
Mouton calls the round up "spring cleaning."
Deputy Marshals headed out before dawn--the best time to catch people their looking for off guard.
"We're trying to catch them safely without any harm to them or us,"said Joseph Hardy, Deputy Marshal Opelousas.
Hardy says although the warrants aren't for serious crimes, every warrant is taken seriously.
"The hardest part of the job is going in because you don't know if they have any weapons,"said Hardy.
