Severe storms containing large, damaging tornadoes pummeled portions of Mississippi Monday afternoon/evening with more expected through the early part of Monday night.
The risk of severe weather will likely continue eastward Tuesday, but Acadiana will not be completely out of the woods for a very slight severe weather risk until drier, more stable arrives behind a cool front Tuesday evening.
Rain chances should stay in the 20-30% range through Tuesday, but could be higher in northern portions of Acadiana where the risk of severe weather will be slightly higher.
Look for very warm and humid conditions to continue Tuesday with morning lows in the low-mid 70s and afternoon temperatures pushing the upper 80s!
Drier and cooler weather will spill into the region later this week with a favorable pattern expected through the weekend.
