It's getting close to game time for the Ragin' Cajuns. Kick off is a little more than five weeks away. For the fans, Cajun Field will have a new look this year. Construction is still underway and in high gear.
According to UL, the work will be wrapped up in time for game day.
"Fans are going to see a totally different experience to this year in the 2014 season," said Rob Stewart, Associate Athletic Director for UL.
Stewart said new changes for fans starts with seats now available at the 50 yard line.
"We got significant seats that have never been available before, and you're going to be able to be right in the middle of the action. You're going to be down close to the field, and really feel like you're apart of the game," Stewart said.
Mid-field seats, sections P and Q, used to be for students. Their section has moved, along with the band's section, closer to the South side.
"What the upgrades say is that this year is putting the focus on the fan experience, and rewarding the best fans in the country by upgrading their experience here," Stewart said.
The South side no longer has a grassy section. Instead, it will hold close to 7,000 Cajuns fans, which is why new restrooms, and 16 new concession stands, are also in store.
"I think the upgrades will most definitely help with ticket sales. It will increase the demand to be in here, it will increase the excitement, but most importantly, it increases the entertainment value when they're here," Stewart said.
