Two UL students targeted at their off campus apartment.
The two women had just arrived home to Campus Edge, shut the door, and then two men entered their apartment--with a gun---demanding valuables.
"I thought we were going to be dead." After a night out on the town one victim , and her roommate, another UL student say just moments after arriving back home to their apartment, two masked black males allegedly forced their way inside.
"They had to have been somewhere where we couldn't see them and waiting for us." The two men then demanded their purses, cell phones and keys, but that's not all...
"And then they grabbed the X-Box and the Wii."
The victim says one of the alleged burglars sexually assaulted her and that's when she started screaming, but in an attempt to scare them the gunman then fired one bullet right through the wall.
"That's when they knew to leave because they made noise."
The victim's parents say they're glad their daughter and her roommates are safe and sound, but one question that is coming back to haunt them is when they asked if the complex has security cameras.
"They were like no, we don't, but we really don't have problems."
Now, the victim's parents want security beefed up and cameras installed. They spend so much money on amenities...just spend that little bit more and protect the kids too. Don't just give them the stuff that's fun, protect them also. You're giving them tanning beds, but they need security more than tanning beds."
We did reach out to the management of Campus Edge, however they declined comment for our report.
