Traffic stop leads to discovery of marijuana

A state trooper stopped a car for a routine traffic violation on Interstate 20 eastbound, west of Arcadia, and found more than three pounds of marijuana in the car.
The driver, 24-year-old Jamar Harris, of Cleveland, Miss., gave the trooper consent Monday to search the car and uncovered the drugs and $1,900 hidden in the vehicle. Harris was booked on charges of possession with intent to distribute marijuana, conspiracy to distribute marijuana and following too close.
A passenger, 23-year-old Arsenio Nelson, also of Cleveland, was booked with possession with intent to distribute marijuana and conspiracy to distribute marijuana.
Both were transported to the Bienville Parish Jail. Bond information was not immediately available.
