Tracy Wirtz joined the KATC family in 2005 and has a broadcast career dating back to 1988. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communications from UL Lafayette (then USL) in 1992. She, her husband Kevin, and her three children (Bonnie, Terryn, and Cory) live in Crowley, where she has lived all her life.
The number one question she gets is "what time do you get up in the morning?" The answer is 2 a.m. The second is "are you guys really having that much fun?" That answer is a resounding "YES!" She says they have even more fun when the cameras are off.
Tracy loves community theater, having acted and directed in many Acadia Players productions over the last 15 years. She has served on the board of directors for the International Rice Festival since 1995 and is a past president. She also works with the board of the Acadiana Chapter of the American Red Cross.
