When you're studying, at work, or just need to be all business, you need your beautiful hair out of the way. Style Sessions talked to Francesca Windsor, stylist at Lloyd-Windsor salon in Los Angeles, and a guest stylist on ABC's Extreme Makeover. "These looks allow you to be stylish while your hair's out of your way, then you can take it down and have a whole other look for afterward," says Windsor. She's here to show you fast, fabulous ideas to look cute tied up, pinned down, twisted around, and studying like an ace.
Too-Cute Twists
These five steps show you an easy way to get your bangs, long or short, out of your eyes, but with a twist!
"When you're done studying, you can take out the twists and you'll have cool waves," says Windsor. Add a pretty gloss and mascara for a clean face, and you're good to go!
Cool Boho Braids
Creating Boho Braids is simple: Take one or two inch sections and braid each piece. Bobby pin it in place, or use an invisible ponyholder. Done!
"You can leave the braids in for a cute Boho look, or later take them out and you'll have a crimping effect," says Windsor. Choose natural makeup with a sheer gloss on the lips. You can be in a plain t-shirt and jeans, but if you add a chunky necklace and swap out the campus-friendly sneakers for going-out boots...Hot.
Dig The Zig Zag
Zig-zag is a way to create an intricate-looking weaved 'do that actually just takes a few minutes to achieve.
"This is a more studied look," says Windsor. Avoid organic, Boho-like jewelry. Opt for metallic jewelry, and avoid any fashion with prints -- your hair is angular and graphic so you don't want a floral shirt.
Style Sessions Tip: "Never put your hair up while it's wet," advises Windsor. "The texture of the hair changes as it dries, it expands, and if it's tied up this can cause considerable breakage."
