Three Month Old is Caught in the Middle of A Drive-By Shooting

A three month-old baby is the center of a drive-by shooting in Lafayette. It happened on 14th Street at Al's Neighborhood Grocery at 9 Tuesday morning.

The victim said he was shopping inside Al's Neighborhood Grocery Store right when he stepped outside the front door to answer a phone call, holding his three month-old son. That's when a vehicle pulled up and the suspect started shooting at them.

He and his baby were not hit. After hearing the shots the man ran back inside the store carrying his baby to safety. Officials aren't sure what the motive was behind this shooting. Lafayette Police said they don't believe the shooter was targeting anyone else. The suspect did fire multiple rounds before he sped off.

The suspect was last seen driving an older model White Cadillac. If you've seen this car or know anything about this shooting call the Lafayette Police Department.
