Three arrested for robbery in New Iberia City Park

Two teens and a 20-year-old man were arrested Monday in connection with a robbery at City Park in New Iberia.

According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, a 14-year-old female reported that a black female and two black males approached her and asked to see her phone.

The victim said the female suspect forcibly took the phone out of the victim's hand. When a witness tried to intervene, one of the male suspects threatened the witness.

The suspects fled the area and were later located by deputies, at which time they took off running.

The 16-year-old female was arrested for simple robbery and resisting an officer. The 14-year-old male was arrested for principal to simple robbery and resisting an officer. Both juveniles were released on summonses to their guardians.

Nathaniel Francisco, 20, was arrested on charges of simple robbery, contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile, resisting an officer, resisting by refusing to identify and simple assault.

No bond was set as of 2 p.m. Tuesday.
