There is still an opportunity to vote on Lafayette Comprehensive Plan

Lafayette Consolidated Government, with support from the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce, hosted two successful open houses for Community Forum Series Three on May 14 and 15. The open houses provided the citizens of Lafayette an opportunity to select the growth scenario of their choice.

Hundreds attended the two forums, and there is still time for additional input from community members. Organizers are aware that not everyone was able to participate, so there are two additional opportunities to hear from the public.

By visiting PlanLafayette.com, individuals may complete an online survey which asks respondents to answer similar questions that were presented at the forums. Individuals can also download a full packet of information to host their own meeting in-a-box for small groups. Possible groups ideal for hosting a meeting include civic organizations, religious organizations, or neighborhood groups.

Specific instructions for hosting a meeting can be found in the downloaded packet. The packet includes instructions, invitations, sign-in sheets, meeting agendas, questions for discussions, group priority sheets and instructions for returning the information. In addition, in the packet there are links for reference material to assist people with their scenario selection. The deadline for the online survey or to conduct a meeting in a box is Monday, June 10th at 4pm.

Everyone is encouraged to make their voices heard through participation in this important process that will shape the future of Lafayette.
