Ragin' Cajun fans and area businesses are joining forces to honor all UL coaches.
Cajun nation athletics want to raise money from the community to keep quality coaches and ultimately help student athletes.
Excitement is at an all time high thanks to the 2nd Annual Athletics Celebration. Coaches say all UL athletic teams benefit from this event.
"All the money donated comes straight to UL athletics, being the head volleyball coach I know that helps me buy uniforms, keep my staff and we've been able to add a position this year and that's thanks to the RCAF," said Head Volleyball Coach Heather Mazeitis-Fontenot.
"We're very excited its not so much just for tennis, it's for all UL coaches and it supports UL athletics so really it's a celebration for the fans and for them to help support the athletic programs," said Women's Tennis Coach Greg Harkins.
Organizers say last year the meet and greet event was a big hit. It helped raise $150,000 and this year they've already exceeded that.
"It was very exciting, it was the first time ever so that new energy was great with Coach Hud and all the rest of the coaches that were part of it. All the fans were excited and it was just a chance for everyone to meet and get to know each other," said Harkins.
The event will be in the Cajundome Convention Center on Saturday. It's open to the public.
Tickets are $150 per couple including food and drinks. You can purchase tickets now at Ticketmaster or at the door.
