HOUMA, La, - A Terrebonne Parish sheriff's detective
lieutenant has been demoted to sergeant and assigned to community
The Courier reports that 42-year-old Shane Fletcher was demoted
and reassigned after pleading "no contest" to a misdemeanor in
connection with a tracking device put on a coach's car.
Sheriff Vernon Bourgeois says an internal investigation found
that Fletcher's activities were unbecoming an officer.
Fletcher was suspended for three days after pleading no contest
Feb. 12 to criminal mischief. He was reassigned Feb. 28.
Truck stop owner John Ledet Jr. of Raceland and State Trooper
Travis "Bucky" Colombel have pleaded not guilty - Ledet to
criminal mischief, Columbel to malfeasance.
