COVINGTON, La. (AP) - One of the three teenagers arrested for his role in an alleged shooting plot at Lakeshore High School has been released from custody and will serve the remainder of his sentence on probation.
The 16-year-old, of Lacombe, had pleaded guilty in November to solicitation for murder and criminal conspiracy to commit terrorizing. He was sentenced to two years in juvenile prison, with one year suspended and credit for time served.
The Times-Picayune reported Thursday that the teen's attorney asked the court to reduce the sentence, arguing that his client was the only one who wasn't able to post bond since the trio was arrested in early August.
Court administrator Adrienne Stroble says prosecutors did not object.
