A Jennings teen is facing a driving under the influence charge following a Saturday morning crash that seriously injured a 16-year-old passenger.
The accident occurred Saturday shortly after 5 a.m. on La. 14 in Jeff Davis Parish, according to Louisiana State Police Sgt. James Anderson. The driver, Dakota J. Comeaux, 18, was allegedly not wearing a seat belt and sustained moderate injuries. The 16-year-old juvenile passenger was not wearing a seat belt and was flown to a hospital in Lafayette with serious injuries, said Anderson.
Comeaux is charged with driving under the influence, vehicular negligent injuring, driving left of center, open alcoholic container and no seat belt.
LSP obtained a toxicology for analysis from Comeaux and the crash remains under investigation.
