A man is in stable condition after a robbery and shooting in Lake Charles. Police say they were called to the intersection of North Prater and St. John Streets around 5:50am Sunday. When they arrived, officers say the victim told them he had been robbed by a suspect with a gun. The victim then told police that during the robbery, the suspect fired the gun at him.
The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is listed in stable condition. Police say the suspect has been identified as 20 year old Shaquille Ellis of 1920 Gieffers Street in Lake Charles. An Arrest Warrant for Ellis was issued for Attempted First Degree Murder, Armed Robbery and Armed Robbery Use of a Firearm.
Judge Ritchie set the bond amount at $1,250,000
