Superintendent agrees to stay another year

WINNSBORO, La. (AP) - Franklin Parish Schools Superintendent
Lanny Johnson has changed his mind.
School Board President Eddie Bryan tells The News-Star the board canceled its special meeting scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to accept Johnson's resignation.
Mid-afternoon Wednesday, less than three hours before the meeting was to be held, Bryan says Johnson agreed to serve the district one more year.
Bryan said he and the board appreciate Johnson's decision and his dedication to help them through a year when the board is facing financial difficulty and a possible reduction in force.
Johnson has also served as Ouachita Parish superintendent.
