It seems as if winter has finally decided to show up here in Acadiana, even if it is the last day in January. Temperatures this morning were down in the 30s early Thursday morning, before climbing up into the 60s in the afternoon.
This is more in line with our seasonal temperatures which typically sit in the low 60s this time of year. This cool, and very dry air mass, moved in behind the cold front that pushed through early Wednesday morning.
The front didn't provide much in the way of rain, mainly because it pushed through so quickly, but winds were definitely on the high side. Winds have since calmed down and the forecast has become significantly quieter.
Leading into the weekend temperatures will hover near normal before slowly warming up into the upper 60s for Saturday and Sunday. Rain chances over the next several days remain minimal at best, and hopefully we can keep it that way through Mardi Gras.
