Sunday morning crash clamis life of Texas man

One person was killed in a Sunday morning crash when the vehicle he was a passenger in ran off Highway 12 west of Starks and struck a tree.

Killed was James English, 18, from Orange, Texas. English was seated in the rear of vehicle behind the driver when the vehicle ran off the road and struck a tree. English was pronounced dead at the scene. Two other passengers in the vehicle were also transported to Orange Medical hospital with minor injuries.

According to investigators from Troop D, on November 22 at around 12:48 AM, the 2002 Honda passenger car, driven by Kelby Simspon,18, from Orange, Texas was traveling west on highway 12 in Calcasieu Parish, ran off the roadway to the left of highway 12 and struck a tree.

Toxicology tests are pending at the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab. The crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
