Not much rain out there this morning, but this will be changing later in the day. Numerous rains are about 150 miles offshore and a line of storms is moving through the Dallas area.
The trough of low pressure that's near Dallas will continue to move eastward across the mid south today. This will tap into the moisture over the Gulf of Mexico bringing it northward. Partly to mostly cloudy skies to start your Friday, but rain and storms will be developing from south to north during the day. Rains could be sticking around later tonight and continue through Saturday. Heavy downpours are possible for the early part of the weekend.
As the disturbance north of our area pushes east on Sunday, we'll see more scattered afternoon variety storms. By Labor Day typical summer weather will return with highs in the 90s.
Remember to be safe around storms this weekend. Many have plans to go to Jamborees, tailgating, and the Cajuns' Game. Seek shelter when there is lightning present!
