SLEMCO, LUS, AND CLECO all are reporting power outages as a result of storm cells moving through Acadiana Thursday evening.
SLEMCO, according to its website, is indicating 458 household outages in St. Martin, St. Landry, Lafayette, Vermilion, and Acadia Parishes. The SLEMCO household breakdown by parish is as follows:
St. Martin Parish 3
St. Landry Parish 12
Lafayette Parish 321
Vermilion Parish 121
Acadia Parish 1
Lafayette Utilities System is confirming power outages in two areas of the city affecting approximately 70 customers as a result of storms moving through the area.
Utility customers in neighborhoods near the intersection of Marie Antoinette Drive have been affected a downed tree that knocked out a power line. Residents near the area of W. St. Louis St. were affected by downed equipment as a result of the storm activity.
Crews are currently working to restore power to these customers as quickly as possible.
CLECO only reported two outages in parishes within the Acadiana region.
