St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 149 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Toby James Adams, 35, 903 Anderson Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 14, 2013 at 3:45 pm on a warrant for violation of a protective order. A deputy located Adams at the Sheriff's Office in Franklin. Adams was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $10,000 bond.

Quincy Louis Toups, 32, 543 Wheelis Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 14, 2013 at 6:09 pm on two warrants for criminal neglect. A deputy patrolling the Bayou Vista area conducted a traffic stop after observing a vehicle fail to use a turn signal at the intersection of Southeast Blvd. and Hwy. 182. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Toups, and learned of the warrants for his arrest. Toups was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $5,367.65.

Houston H. Cooley, Jr., 49, 317 Callahan Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 14, 2013 at 6:46 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at Walmart in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store security that Cooley was observed hiding items on his person. Cooley then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. He was released on a summons to appear in court on September 3, 2013.

Sergio Saucedo, 25, 7100 Highway 182 Lot #8, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 14, 2013 at 9:19 pm for careless operation and operating a motor vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy observed a vehicle hastily pulling out of the Circle K parking lot on Highway 182 in Morgan City. In doing so, the driver caused the vehicle to turn around nearly 360 degrees. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Saucedo. Saucedo could not produce a valid United States driver's license and was found to be operating the motor vehicle without lawful presence in the U.S. Saucedo was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Wanda Peters Williams, 48, 2137 Becnel Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 15, 2013 at 3:30 am for domestic abuse battery. A deputy began an investigation into a domestic violence incident after receiving a complaint at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office in Franklin. The deputy learned that Williams cut off the hair of a male victim while he was sleeping at his residence in Franklin. Williams and the victim had been involved in a verbal argument earlier in the day. Williams was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Sherman Thompkins, 28, 1304 Federal Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on Jume 15, 2013 at 1:43 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of criminal neglect of family. A deputy made contact with Thompkins while investigating a complaint at a lounge on Hwy. 182 in Amelia and subsequently learned of the warrant for his arrest. Thompkins was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $500.

Gustavo Aguilera, 19, 109 Bailey's Lane, Amelia, LA was arrested on June 15, 2013 at 2:50 am for careless operation and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy responding to a complaint of a vehicle stuck in a ditch on Duhon Bypass Road in Amelia made contact with the driver. The driver was unable to provide a valid driver's license. The deputy determined that the driver was operating the motor vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. Aguilera was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Emilie Businelle, 20, 600 Superior Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 15, 2013 at 3:19 am for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance in the area of Superior Lane. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Businelle caused disturbances at a bar located on Highway 182 in Bayou Vista and then at a residence on Superior Lane. Businelle was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. She was released on a $250 bond.

David D. Brown, 42, 102 Todd Lane, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 15, 2013 at 12:17 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle made contact with Brown who was found to be wanted on the active warrant. Brown was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on $329.50 bond.

Shailon Favors, 19, 401 Mills Road Lot #401, Patterson, LA was arrested on June 16, 2013 at 2:49 pm for theft of goods and resisting an officer. While patrolling the Bayou Vista area a deputy responded to a complaint of a shoplifting in progress at Walmart in Bayou Vista. The deputy located the suspect in the shoplifting on Delmar Road. Favors attempted to evade the deputy but was detained. During the course of the investigation, the deputy met with store security personnel and, using video surveillance footage from the store, identified Favors as the shoplifter. Favors was caught on video taking items and placing them in her purse. Favors was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. She was released on a $2,000 bond.

Bryan James Savell, 27, 11439 Highway 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 16, 2013 at 4:04 pm for unauthorized entry of an inhabited dwelling, resisting an officer, and on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of simple battery, false imprisonment, and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. A deputy investigating a complaint attempted to make contact with Savell at his residence on Highway 182 in Franklin. In an effort to evade the deputy, Savell entered into a neighboring home that is attached to his residence and locked himself in a bathroom. After several commands to exit the bathroom, Savell complied. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Savell was wanted on active warrants. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Edgardo Cora, 53, 325 Highway 14, New Iberia, LA was arrested on June 16, 2013 at 5:03 pm for driving while intoxicated, reckless operation, and no driver's license. A deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista. The deputy located the suspect vehicle and observed the driver swerving from lane to lane and over the fog line. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver, identified as Cora. The deputy detected the odor of alcohol on Cora's breath and person. Cora later registered a .284g% blood alcohol concentration on the Intoxilyzer 5000 breath test. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
