According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 53 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Orion P. McCranie, 33, 460 Wilson Street, Berwick, LA was arrested on June 6, 2013 at 10:54 am on a warrant for three counts of issuing worthless checks. A deputy located McCranie at his residence on the warrant. He was released on a summons to appear in court on September 3, 2013.
Michelle Hilts, 22, 415 9th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 6, 2013 at 4:31 pm for theft of goods and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
Tahjiana Peters, 18, 414 9th Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on June 6, 2013 at 4:31 pm for theft of goods and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles.
A deputy responded to a report of shoplifters at Walmart in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from security personnel that Hilts and Peters were observed placing items inside of their purses while walking around the store. The two females then attempted to leave the store without paying for the items. Two juveniles were with Hilts and Peters during the theft. Hilts and Peters were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Both were released on a $2,000 bond.
Ricky Mire, Jr., 32, 313 A Venus Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 6, 2013 at 11:36 pm for disturbing the peace intoxicated and flight from an officer. A deputy responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence on Venus Road. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that a male subject involved in the disturbance fled on foot. The subject, identified as Mire, was located near Mercury Road. The deputy detected the strong odor of alcohol on Mire's person. Following an investigation, Mire was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $3,250.
