According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 60 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Juvenile male, 13, Bayou Vista was arrested on June 3, 2013 at 9:43 am for runaway juvenile, curfew violation, and theft of a bicycle. A deputy received a complaint of runaway juvenile. The teen left his residence around midnight and had not returned home. The deputy located the juvenile on Clarke Road. The teenager stated that he had been riding a bicycle that he took from the corner of Saturn Road and Southwest Blvd. The juvenile was released to the custody of a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Russell Walker, Jr., 28, 169 Mallard Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on June 3, 2013 at 6:23 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on traffic offenses including operating a vehicle while intoxicated and driving under suspension. A deputy was notified by the Morgan City Police Department that Walker had been arrested on the warrant from the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. His bond is set at $1,500. He remains incarcerated at the MCPD Jail.
Rodney James Alexis, 50, 821 Henkel Street, Jeanerette, LA was arrested on June 4, 2013 at 1:29 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of careless operation. During an investigation, a deputy made contact with Alexis and learned of the warrant for his arrest. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Chad Kirkland, 28, 109 Mars Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on June 4, 2013 at 3:17 am on warrants for failure to comply with the terms and conditions of drug court on drug charges including possession of hydrocodone and possession of amphetamine. A deputy responded to a report of two suspicious male subjects at the Cabot boat landing off Highway 317.The deputy made contact with the two subjects, one of whom was identified as Kirkland who was wanted on the warrants. During the investigation, Kirkland gave the deputy a fake name in an attempt to avoid arrest on the warrants. Kirkland was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
