According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 49 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Alton Kemp, Jr., 26, 458 Verdun Lane Centerville, LA was arrested on May 1, 2013 at 8:20 am for disturbing the peace by fighting and resisting an officer. A deputy responded to a report of a disturbance on Verdun Lane. Upon arrival, the deputy learned that Kemp and a female victim were arguing when Kemp struck her. Deputies located Kemp at another residence on Verdun Lane. When Kemp saw deputies, he fled on foot into a wooded area. Deputies gave chase and apprehended Kemp who was located hiding behind a door to the residence. Alton was transported to the jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Robert Gros, 43, 137 Nini Lane Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 1, 2013 at 9:21 am on a warrant from Assumption Parish Sheriff's Office for disturbing the peace by using foul language and criminal mischief. Gros was located at the parish courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. He was later transported to another jurisdiction.
Claudea Avila, 25, 2602 Lake Palourde Road Amelia, LA was arrested on May, 1, 2013 at 10:26 am for careless operation and operating a vehicle without lawful presence in the United States. A deputy responded to a two vehicle crash on Waterworks Road in Amelia. During the investigation, the deputy learned that Avila did not have a valid driver's license or ID and was in the United States illegally. She was placed under arrest and transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Brandon Michael Leblanc, 27, 1110 Ditch Ave. Morgan City, LA was arrested on May 1, 2013 at 4:25 pm on a warrant for theft under $500. A deputy located Leblanc at 1829 Hwy. 90 in Bayou Vista on the warrant. He was transported to the parish jail. His bond is $1,000.
Layne Michael Aucoin, 19, 723 Arlington Road Lot #1 Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on May 1, 2013 at 9:47 pm for aggravated second degree battery. Deputies responded to a 911 call of a stabbing on Arlington Road. A 32 year old male victim was transported to Thibodaux Regional Medical Center for treatment of an apparent stab wound. Detectives identified a male subject on the scene as a suspect. Detectives determined that while visiting the residence, Aucoin produced a knife and stabbed the victim in the torso area. Aucoin was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
