According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Christopher Singleton, 18, 173 Friendship Alley Amelia, LA was arrested on March 20, 2013 at 1:03 pm on a warrant for aggravated assault with a firearm and aggravated criminal damage to property. Deputies located Singleton at his residence on the warrant. The warrant stems from an investigation which began on March 1, 2013 when a complainant came into the SMPSO in Morgan City and reported that a subject fired several gunshots into a vehicle on Friendship Alley. The detective working the case identified Singleton as the suspect who fired the weapon at the vehicle and obtained a warrant for his arrest. Singleton was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Jamachia Bowie, 22, 102 Long Street Jeanerette, LA was arrested on March 20, 2013 at 10:01 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of simple criminal trespass. Bowie turned herself in at the parish jail in Centerville after learning of the warrant for her arrest. She was released on a $1,000 bond.
Joseph Young, III, 43, 771 Deforest Brown Lane Centerville, LA was arrested on March 21, 2013 at 2:32 am on a warrant for unauthorized use of a movable. A deputy responding to a complaint made contact with Young and learned of the warrant for his arrest. The warrant stems from an investigation into Young using a vehicle without the consent of the owner for approximately one week. The vehicle was recovered on March 2, 2013 from the Siracusaville area. Young was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Charles Chandler, II, 21, 149 Sun Road Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on March 21, 2013 at 4:00 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of synthetic cannabinoids second offense, abuse of toxic vapors, and contributing to the delinquency of juveniles. A deputy responded to a complaint of an unresponsive subject who was in a running vehicle parked in the parking lot of Walmart in Bayou Vista. The deputy determined that the subject was sleeping. The subject was identified as Chandler who was wanted on the warrant. He was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
