According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert the Narcotics Division made the following arrests:
Jacob David Elles, 28, 4132 Patricia Street, Halton City, TX was arrested on August 30, 2013 at 7:19 pm for possession of Schedule III (Lortab) with intent to distribute and transaction involving drug proceeds. Detectives of the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office Narcotics Division were patrolling the area of the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival when they watched a subject conduct a narcotics transaction. Detectives made contact with subject, identified as Elles, and located Lortab pills on his person. Detectives also located $898.00 in US currency, which was seized pending forfeiture. Elles was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Shanae Landry, 50, 2440 North Sutton Street, Vidor, TX, was arrested on August 30, 2013 at 7:56 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana) and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone).
Rachelle Lacouture, 48, 515 Concord St. Vidor, TX, was arrested on August 30, 2013 at 7:56 pm for possession of Schedule I (marijuana), possession of drug paraphernalia, and violation of a controlled dangerous substance law (drug free zone).
Narcotics detectives patrolling the Shrimp and Petroleum Festival area in Morgan City observed two females sitting inside a parked vehicle at the smoking marijuana. Contact was made with the two females who were identified as Lacontre and Landry. Landry gave consent to search her purse and Lacontre gave consent to search her vehicle. During the search, detectives located marijuana inside Landry's purse and marijuana and drug paraphernalia in Lacontre's belongings. This happened approximately one block away from a school. Both were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration.
