According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 32 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Gary Draper, 41, 117 Railroad Avenue, Morgan City, LA was arrested on April, 16, 2014 at 10:48 am on two warrants for the Houma Police Department for failure to appear on the charge of simple battery and failure to appear on the charge of disturbing the peace. A deputy received information regarding Draper's whereabouts and located him at a business in Amelia on the active warrants. Draper was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was later transferred to another jurisdiction.
Brett Gaspard, 23, 231 Baker Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on April 16, 2014 at 11:26 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of possession of heroin, possession of Schedule I drugs, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy located Gaspard at the St. Mary Parish Courthouse in Franklin on the warrant. Gaspard was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Edward J. Mills, 46, 1302 Convention Street, Baton Rouge, LA was arrested on April 16, 2014 at 3:55 pm on a warrant for obtaining a prescription by fraud. The warrant stems from an investigation into a report of a subject attempting to fill a forged prescription on April 3, 2014 at a pharmacy in Morgan City. Narcotics detectives identified the subject as Mills and a warrant was issued for his arrest. A deputy transported Mills from Pointe Coupee Parish to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on the warrant. No bond is set. A picture of Mills is included.
