According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 26 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Mykella Johnson, 27, 1356 Joseph Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 19, 2014 at 9:42 am on a warrant for theft of goods. A deputy located Johnson at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville and learned of the active warrant for her arrest. Johnson was released on a $1,500 bond.
Jeremy P. Gros, 32, 3631 Keith Street, Pierre Part, LA was arrested on February 19, 2014 at 4:48 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Gros was seen taking a video game from its packaging and leaving the store without paying for the item. Gros was released on a summons to appear in court on May 22, 2014.
Renee A. Theriot, 26, 309 Marigny Circle Apt. C, Duson, LA was arrested on February 19, 2014 at 11:54 pm on the following charges:
Reckless operation of a vehicle
Possession of Schedule I drug (synthetic cannabinoids)
Possession of Schedule IV drug (Xanax)
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Obstruction of justice
Entering contraband into a penal institution
A deputy responded to a report of a reckless driver on Highway 90 west in the Baldwin area. The deputy located a vehicle matching the description given by the complainant. The deputy observed the vehicle veer onto the shoulder of the roadway before traveling back across both lanes of travel nearly striking another vehicle. The deputy conducted a traffic stop and made contact with the driver who was identified as Theriot. During the investigation, the deputy received permission to search the vehicle and located synthetic marijuana, a Xanax pill, and items of drug paraphernalia. Theriot was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. During booking, Theriot was found to be in possession of additional Xanax pills. No bond is set.
