According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to complaints 56 and reports the following arrests:
Deavanta Burden, 21, 1158 Highway 82 Lot #1, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 4, 2014 at 5:40 am on the following charges:
Aggravated battery, 2 counts
Simple criminal damage to property
Cruelty to juveniles
Resisting and officer
Warrant for simple battery
A deputy responded to a complaint of a disturbance at a residence on Highway 83. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from witnesses that Burden was involved in a physical altercation with two subjects. During the fight, Burdun struck a male victim with a brick and a female victim with a stick. A 2 year old child was also struck as a result of the altercation. Burden, who was not at the location when the deputy arrived, later returned to the residence. Upon seeing the deputy, Burden fled. The deputy apprehended Burdon after a brief foot chase. Following the investigation, Burden was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Cynthia Hebert, 60, 222 Teche Court, Baldwin, LA was arrested on February 4, 2014 at 10:53 am on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. Hebert was released on a summons to appear in court on May 22, 2014.
Stacy Bolden, 41, 1404 Cynthia Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 4, 2014 at 1:20 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. Bolden was released on a summons to appear in court on May 22, 2014.
Janice Fabre, 60, 112 Ross Lane, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 4, 2014 at 7:09 pm on a warrant for issuing worthless checks. Fabre turned herself in at the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center in Centerville on drug court sanctions and it was learned that she also held an active warrant for her arrest. No bond is set.
Jessica Ross, 25, 810 Levee Road, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 4, 2014 at 1:35 am for driving while intoxicated, open alcoholic container in a motor vehicle, and improper lane usage. A deputy responded to a complaint of a reckless driver on Highway 90 in the Patterson area. Using a description provided by the complainant, the deputy located the vehicle and observed the vehicle travel onto the shoulder of the roadway multiple times. The deputy conducted a traffic stop. Upon making contact with the driver, identified as Ross, the deputy observed an open container of beer. While speaking with Ross, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on her breath and person. Ross performed poorly on the field sobriety test and later registered a 0.104g% on the breath test. Ross was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
