St. Mary Parish Daily Arrest Report

According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, over the last 72 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 108 complaints and reports the following arrests:

Jaquita Johnson, 24, 604 Cleveland Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on January 31, 2014 at 2:13 pm for theft of goods.

Kedesha Scott, 19, 521 ½ Bush Street, Amelia, LA was arrested on January 31, 2014 at 2:13 pm for theft of goods.

A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Johnson and Scott were seen placing items in shopping bags and leaving the store without paying for the goods. Both were released on summonses to appear in court on April 28, 2014.

Andronique Lemons, 23, 1504 Main Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on January 31, 2014 at 4:00 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Lemons was seen concealing items in her jacket before attempting to leave the store without paying for the items. Lemons was released on a summons to appear in court on April 28, 2014.

Edwin Calloway, 32, 428 Idaho Street, Morgan City, LA was arrested on February 1, 2014 at 9:09 am on a warrant for failure to appear on the charges of possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of alcoholic beverages in motor vehicles, and operating a vehicle without a driver's license. Calloway was transported from the Morgan City Police Department to the St. Mary Parish Law Enforcement Center for housing. No bond is set.

Juvenile male, 16, Belle Rose, LA was arrested on February 1, 2014 at 12:49 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that the juvenile was seen concealing an item in his pants before attempting to leave the store without paying for the item. The juvenile was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.

Sidney Elair, 55, 8509 Highway 90 Frontage Road, Franklin, LA was arrested on February 2, 2014 at 9:58 am for disturbing the peace (intoxicated), battery of a police officer, resisting an officer with force, and possession of drug paraphernalia. A deputy responded to a complaint of a civil matter at the residence above after receiving a call from Elair who sounded impaired and repeatedly cursed at a deputy over the phone. Upon making contact with Elair, the deputy smelled the odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath and person. During the course of the investigation, Elair began yelling at a neighbor. During his arrest, Elair pulled away from the deputy striking the deputy's arm. Elair was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.

Hilton Abraham, Jr., 41, 307 Pickett Lane, Charenton, LA was arrested on February 2, 2014 at 8:26 pm on the following charges:
Possession of drug paraphernalia
Possession of Schedule II (cocaine)
Possession of Schedule I (marijuana), 4th offense
Violation of maximum speed limit (72 in a 55)

Joseph Lumpkin, 50, 121 M.L.K. Street, Charenton, LA was arrested on February 2, 2014 at 8:10 pm on the following charges:
Possession of drug paraphernalia (3rd offense)
Possession of Schedule I (marijuana)
Possession of Schedule II (cocaine)

A deputy working radar on Highway 90 near Thorguson Road recorded a vehicle travelling 72 mph in a 55 mile per hour zone and conducted a traffic stop. The deputy made contact with the driver, identified as Abraham and smelled the strong odor of burning marijuana. The deputy also made contact with a passenger in the vehicle, identified as Lumpkin. Upon speaking with Lumkin, the deputy saw a suspected bag of marijuana in his jacket pocket. The deputy also located a piece of crack cocaine on Lumpkin's person. Furthering the investigation, the deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located additional marijuana, cocaine, and items of drug paraphernalia. Both Abraham and Lumpkin were transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
