According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 36 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Jonathan W. Ashley, 25, 5711 Hwy. 182, Franklin, LA was arrested on November 21, 2013 at 4:45 pm for theft of goods. A deputy responded to a complaint of shoplifting at a store in Bayou Vista. Upon arrival, the deputy learned from store personnel that Ashley was seen the price tag off of an item and then returning it to customer service for a refund without having paid for the item. Ashley was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $1,000.
Crystal Eaves, 31, 225 Mercury Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 22, 2013 at 1:00 am for disturbing the peace intoxicated. A deputy responding to a complaint of a suspicious vehicle on Universe Street in Bayou Vista made contact with Eaves who appeared to be highly intoxicated. After witnessing that Eaves was slurring her speech and unable to stand on her own, the deputy contacted Acadian Ambulance. Eaves was subsequently transported to Teche Regional Medical Center. While at the hospital, Eaves repeatedly yelled in the presence of hospital staff. The deputy also learned during the course of the investigation that Eaves caused a disturbance at a lounge in Bayou Vista. Upon her release from the medical facility, Eaves was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $500.
Renata Harris, 33, 1207 South Road, Bayou Vista, LA was arrested on November 21, 2013 at 10:35 pm on a warrant for failure to appear on the charge of speeding. A deputy responding to a vehicle crash on Highway 90 in Bayou Vista made contact with Harris who was a passenger in one of the vehicles. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that Harris held an active warrant for arrest. Harris was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. She was released on a $349.50 bond.
