According to St. Mary Parish Sheriff Mark Hebert, during the last 24 hour reporting period the Sheriff's Office responded to 56 complaints and reports the following arrests:
Tyler Brewer, 21, 400 Louisa Street, Patterson, LA was arrested on July 22, 2013 at 7:46 am on a warrant for criminal damage to property and simple battery. A deputy located Brewer at his residence on the warrant. The warrants stems from an investigation into a complaint of a battery. The deputy determined that during a verbal argument with a female victim, brewer grabbed the victim by the arm and repeatedly kicked and punched a vehicle. He was released on a $1,000 bond.
Karl Lee Davis, 23, 106 South Hammer Avenue, Lafayette, LA was arrested on July 22, 2013 at 9:27 am for theft of a motor vehicle and theft. A deputy responded to a report that a stolen vehicle was seen in the woods off of Jones Road #2 in Jeanerette. Upon arrival, the deputy located the vehicle. The deputy also received information from witnesses at the scene indicating that the subject who took the vehicle was also in the woods. The deputy located the suspect who was identified as Davis. During the course of the investigation, the deputy confirmed that the truck located in the woods had been reported stolen. Davis was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set. The investigation is ongoing.
Juvenile male, 15, Gibson was arrested on July 22, 2013 at 11:15 am on the charge of runaway juvenile. The juvenile, who left a residence in Amelia on July 14, 2013 was located by a family member in Gibson and brought in to speak with a juvenile detective at the St. Mary Parish Sheriff's Office. He was released to a guardian pending juvenile court proceedings.
Courtney J. Welch, 27, 123 Bray Lane, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 22, 2013 at 9:43 pm on warrants from Franklin Police Department for traffic charges. A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Irish Bend Road on a vehicle that had an expired license plate. During the traffic stop investigation, the deputy learned that Welch was wanted on active warrants by Franklin Police. Welch was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. He was released on a $565 bond.
David Wayne Davis, 52, 3640 Lake Palourde Road, Amelia, LA was arrested on July 22, 2013 at 11:03 pm for proper bicycle equipment required and possession of Schedule II (Cocaine). A deputy patrolling the Amelia area observed a subject riding a bicycle without any type of lighting equipment and made a stop. During the interaction, the deputy located a rock of suspected crack cocaine on Davis' person. Davis was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
Wayne Demarco, Jr., 24, 118 Sydney Joe Lane, Berwick, LA was arrested on July 23, 2013 at 4:26 am for aggravated burglary and on warrants for failure to appear on the charges of driving while intoxicated and criminal neglect of family. A deputy responded to a report of a burglary in progress on Southeast Blvd. in Bayou Vista. During the course of the investigation, the deputy learned that a resident had detained a subject who was burglarizing the home. The subject was identified as Demarco. Demarco was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. No bond is set.
David P. Crow, 20, 1307 Cayce Street, Franklin, LA was arrested on July 23, 2013 at 4:35 am for failure to signal, failure to stop at a stop sign, and possession of Schedule I (synthetic cannabinoids). A deputy conducted a traffic stop on Iberia Street in Franklin and made contact with the driver, identified as Crow. While speaking with Crow, the deputy received consent to search and located a package of synthetic marijuana on his person. Crow was transported to the parish jail for booking and incarceration. Bond is set at $2,500.
