Slightly Cooler Mid-Week

Monday was the warmest day in Acadiana for the calender year with highs reaching the low-mid 80s. An approaching front will cool us a little for Tuesday with a secondary surge of high pressure cooling us a little more for Wednesday & Thursday.

The front may generate a few isolated showers Monday evening with cooler air in the mid-upper 50s arriving by Tuesday morning.

Partly sunny skies Tuesday won't last long as the front becomes stationary in the Gulf of Mexico while another upper disturbance races out of the Rockies engendering cloud cover and the risk of showers late Tuesday night into early Wednesday.

The system will clear the area by Wednesday afternoon with temperatures closer to normal Wednesday and Thursday.

Another warm-up is expected Friday ahead of the next frontal trough. This system should yield a good chance of showers and storms late Friday through early Saturday. Best time for showers and storms with this system is still up in the air, pun intended, as models are varying on frontal passage from Friday night through Saturday night.

Mostly sunny and cooler weather appears to be a good bet Sunday into early next week.
