Shreveport woman arrested in parking lot shooting

SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - A 22-year-old Shreveport woman wanted for firing several shots at a man in a Wal-Mart parking lot on Easter Sunday has been arrested in Nevada.

Police say Esclarea Smith was taken into custody in Las Vegas by members of the United States Marshal's Task Force.

Smith is being held at the Clark County jail awaiting extradition back to Shreveport to face attempted murder charges.

Police say the victim was backing out of a parking space when the driver of another vehicle tried to go around his car. The victim and a female passenger of the other vehicle exchanged words. One of the women exited the car and fired at least three shots at the man's car.

The victim was not injured but his car was damaged.
