BOSSIER CITY, La. (AP) - A 36-year-old Shreveport man has been arrested after the vehicle he was driving struck and killed a 66-year-old woman on I-20 in Bossier City.
The Times reports Antonio Diaz was booked into the Bossier City Jail late Monday night on charges of vehicular homicide, DWI second offense, felony hit and run and no driver's license.
Shreveport police took Diaz into custody at his home after he called 911 saying he had hit someone earlier in the evening.
Police said witnesses told them the woman's car had stopped in the outside lane of I-20, possibly because of a mechanical problem. The woman was struck after she stepped out of her vehicle. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
The victim's name has not been released.
