Chances of showers and storms will increase dramatically for Acadiana Friday into the weekend as a slow moving storm system drops southeastward toward Southwest Louisiana over the next couple of days.
Look for scattered activity mainly from mid-morning on for our Friday with the system slowing to a crawl (while weakening) along the upper Texas Coast/SW Louisiana this weekend.
This will keep a good chance of soaking showers and storms in the region Saturday and possibly Sunday.
Rain accumulations will be in the 1-2" range Friday with a repeat performance likely Saturday.
High temperatures will stay below normal through this weekend, closer to the mid-upper 80s thanks to the clouds and showers this weekend.
Rain chances will gradually decrease into next week with increased heat and humidity a very good bet toward the mid-latter part of next week.
