Showers and thunderstorms will be back in the forecast for the beginning of the work week before a quieter period this week.
The low that has been retrograding west the last few days will continue to do so until Monday evening before it starts to wash out.
Once it does was out a ridge of high pressure to the west will start to take control of the forecast limiting showers and storms the next few days.
It is still summer, however, so a few showers and thunderstorms will certainly be possible as the day heats up.
Temperatures have been slightly cooler then average this weekend, but will be making a comeback as the ridge takes over.
In the tropics Tropical Storm Bertha continues to push northward after interacting with the Bahamas Sunday afternoon.
Despite looking very unorganized earlier this weekend, convection seems to be picking up as of Sunday afternoon so looks like Bertha will start to strengthen.
Intensity models seem split on just how strong it will become, with a few thinking Bertha will hit hurricane status this week, so we'll be keeping an eye on that.
