A Lake Charles man is behind bars on attempted 2nd degree murder charges. Police say they were dispatched to the 2300 block of Opelousas Street around 6:00 am Sunday in reference to a shooting. Police say none of the victims had been hit by any gunfire.
Further investigation revealed that the victims had encountered the suspect, Joshua Caleb Davis, at a night club earlier in the evening. The victims told police that though no issues arose during this encounter, Davis following them in his vehicle several hours later.
The victims later told police stated that Davis began to chase their vehicle with his and it was during this chase that Davis fired several rounds from a firearm striking the victim's vehicle.
Officers later located Davis in the 1700 block of O'Brien Street. Davis was arrested and booked into the Calcasieu Correctional Center on two counts of attempted 2nd degree murder. Bond has been set by Judge David Richie at $250,000.00 per count, $500,000.00 total.
