Sheriff: Purchase of Administrative Site 2 to 3 Weeks Away

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says he is two to three weeks away from signing purchase papers for a new administrative building. Guidroz says the property, the former home of the Acadiana Prep School, has been appraised and has undergone an environmental quality survey. According to Guidroz, the only issue holding up the sale is the replacement of asbestos flooring in the building.

The building will house most of the departments in the sheriff's office. Guidroz says the jail and civil department will remain at the parish courthouse due to their proximity to the clerk of court's and tax assessor's offices.
