GONZALES, La. (AP) - Ascension Parish sheriff's deputies have arrested three of four people wanted in the home invasion-robbery and slayings of three people the night of Feb. 18 in an apparent plan to steal rare gold and silver coins.
Sheriff Jeff Wiley told The Advocate the suspects are Michael Aikens and Rolondo Stewart, both of Prairieville; and Travis Moore of Baton Rouge.
Wiley says they were arrested Tuesday and booked with first-degree murder, armed robbery and aggravated burglary.
He said deputies and U.S. marshals are looking for a fourth suspect.
Seventy-four-year-old Robert Irwin Marchand and his stepson, 50-year-old Douglas Dooley, were found dead and Marchand's wife, Shirley, left in grave condition in their home.
Seventy-two-year-old Shirley Marchand died Friday in a hospital.
Wiley said the victims' throats were slashed.
