Through 2:00 pm Sunday afternoon there will be a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH for Allen, Avoyelles, Acadia, Evangeline, Jefferson-Davis, Lafayette, St. Landry, and St. Martin Parish.
Storms will enter western Louisiana just after lunch time on Sunday afternoon with Acadiana's main threat arriving in the evening and continuing through the overnight hours.
During the day storms will be capable of producing damaging winds with up to 70 mph wind gusts, large hail, frequent lightning and heavy down pours will come along with the afternoon storms.
There is a lot of rain expected in these storms and and the Flood WATCH will remain in effect across Acadiana through out the day, keep an eye out for pooling water and never try to drive through standing water on the road.
Overnight Sunday into Monday the threat for isolated tornadoes will increase with the greatest chance for a tornado taking place in south east Louisiana.
Please be vigilant in monitoring the weather Sunday and make sure you stay on the look out for threatening weather.
