In Saint Mary Parish, two people are dead after a boating accident.
It happened overnight in Amelia, just east of Morgan City in Bayou Boeuf. Authorities have called off the search for one of the victims whose body was never recovered.
With the stormy conditions, authorities searched for fourteen hours looking for the body of a woman presumed dead after the boat she was in flipped over.
"Three o'clock in the morning, we got a phone call saying there was a boating accident, but when everybody got out here, the boat was gone," said Taylor Lovell a cousin of the deceased.
Lovell lost her cousin in the accident and in all, three people were out on the boat in Bayou Boeuf when they tried to turn around to take a photo with the Amelia Belle Casino as a backdrop when something went wrong.
"They wanted to take pictures of the casino boat and when they turned, the waves got into the boat and it flipped them," said Summer Gaudet.
Just one person was wearing a life vest, that person survived and is expected to be ok. Family members say killed in the incident was 44 year old Huey Comeaux Junior of Amelia and his girlfriend.
"Sunshie or no sunshine, night or no night, you don't give up. That's a human being and all we want to do is find her," said Lovell.
The search was called off Saturday around 5 o'clock and investigators will be back on the water around 7 o'clock Sunday morning.
