Neighboring parishes have joined the Vermilion Parish Sheriff's Office in their search for a man who escaped from the Vermilion Parish jail this weekend.
30 year old Christopher Dyson is accused of scaling a fence while working as a trusty in the laundry room of the Vermilion Parish jail Saturday. He was in jail on drug charges.
Dyson is said to have several tattoos including the words "T-Boy" on his neck, the zip code 70533 on his back and a pit bull on his chest.
It is not believed that Dyson is searching for a place to hide but officials are asking residents in Vermilion and neighboring parishes to lock their doors and windows as a precaution.
If you see Dyson or any suspicious activity, you are asked to call police immediately.
